If you have ran out of things to this summer, why not get fit and join the Ellon Hillwalking Club.
The club are going on a walk whichtakes place on Sunday, August 18, to the Tolmount which runs from Braedownie in Glen Doll to Auchallater in Glen Clunie.
It is one of the most rugged through walks in Scotland as it climbs to 910 metres and crosses a large tract of exposed high plateau with few landmarks.
The walk is 20km long with an ascent of 690m from the Glen Doll, probably about a 7 hour walk.
A minibus will drop the party off in Glen Doll and be driven around to Auchallater to meet everyone at the finish of the walk.
If you are up for the challenge it’s time to pull on your hiking boots as there are still a few spaces available in the minibus. Please get in touch with Gordon Spence by calling on 01358 788998 as soon as possible to book a space and be given the arrangements for pick up.
