An Aberdeen theatre company have made national connections which will put them on an Edinburgh stage with the chance of performing in London.
Thanks to the support of Shell, APA Senior Youth Theatre will take part in the National Theatre (London) Connections festival - a nationwide celebration of new writing for young people - for the first time this year.
The 15-strong youth theatre company – all aged between 16 and 18 - will perform Little Foot – a powerful new play about modern relationships by Craig Higginson - initially at The Lemon Tree Studio Thursday to Saturday, March 8 to 10 and then at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh for the Connections Festival Tuesday to Saturday, June 12 to 15. If selected as one of the best productions during the festival, they could be invited to perform the production at the National Theatre in London later this year. Little Foot co-director and APA creative learning worker Claire Davidson said: “We are thrilled – and very grateful - that Shell have chosen to sponsor such a worthy project to represent Aberdeen on a national stage.”
