Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin will meet with Transport Secretary Michael Matheson next month to discuss further investment in North-East infrastructure.
It comes after Ms Martin wrote to the Minister calling for further support to make roads in the region safer.
Ms Martin has previously expressed concerns over Toll of Birness and had corresponded with then Transport Minister Keith Brown.
Now, Mr Matheson will meet with the Aberdeenshire East MSP at the Scottish Parliament to discuss how to take calls for a roundabout at the Toll of Birness.
The pair are expected to meet at Holyrood next month to discuss the issue.
The Toll of Birness junction – which takes people onto the A952 towards Fraserburgh – is regularly the scene of accidents, often blocking the busy A90 Peterhead to Aberdeen road.
Earlier this year, a man had to be freed by firefighters following a crash between a Citreon Xsara and a Vauxhall Vectra, and just two days later six people were taken to hospital after a Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Touran collided.
Campaigners have been calling for Transport Scotland to upgrade the connection, and in May flashing signs urging drivers to slow down were installed.
Commenting, Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin said: “I wrote to the Minister earlier this year to discuss giving serious and timely consideration to my suggestion for improvements at the junction.
“I am pleased Michael Matheson will be meeting with me next month – it is clear he is concerned about putting the needs of road users across the country first and I am delighted he will be listening to my concerns.
“There have been a number of accidents since I became MSP for the constituency. It is time to take a proper look again at the installation of a roundabout which could help prevent more accidents from occurring.
“We need to take serious action and it is clear from constituents there is real support for investment to improve the road.
“I look forward to this meeting so we can discuss matters further.”
