The Buchanhaven Heritage Society will be hosting a model exhibition at the Buchanhaven Community Centre on March 23 and 24.

On the 23rd from 10am to 4pm and the 24th from 1pm to 4pm, this is a must see event for the young (and not so young!) as modellers from across the region converge on the centre prior to the first major event for Scotland to be held soon after in Perth.

Large and small scale models will be available to view on subjects ranging from Star Wars and Star Trek to boats, planes and cars, along with figures of all descriptions.

Modellers will be on hand to speak to and you can even get some professional tips all for free.

Alex Geddes, chair of the Society said: “We try to cater for all ages and needs as part of our own going development and I remember well the joy of modelling as a young boy

“Many are now into computers and games, but there is still something special about working with your hands and admiring the finished work, so hopefully this will bring enjoyment to those who already model or inspire those who have not tried it to give it a go.

“To call these models does not do their work justice as they are works of art and their enthusiasm is infectious, so hopefully they will share this with a large crowd over the weekend.

The whole weekend is free so do come along and enjoy the unforgettable talent from modellers from around the region.

We are extremely grateful to Aberdeen Modellers for agreeing to pay us a visit and hope the warm welcome they receive may encourage them to return to other events in the future”
