Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards (ACSTA) organisers have decided to extend the deadline for entries.
People now have up until Tuesday, September 23, 2014, to send in their nominations to the awards website.
Dozens of entries have already been submitted from across Aberdeen but it is hoped that even more will take up the opportunity to shine.
Categories include tourism, visitor attractions, festivals, pubs, restaurants, and hotels to guest houses.
Awards have also been created for businesses that get involved with their local community and that adopt environmentally friendly practices, as well as sections to honour those who make a real difference to the visitor experience.
Entrants will be shortlisted in each category before the winners are announced next January at a glittering awards ceremony.
The awards are organised by the Aberdeen City and Shire Hotels’ Association and are now in their second year.
ACTSA chairman Iain Watson said: “We have been really impressed not just with the volume of entries coming in, but the calibre of them. It will be difficult for the judging panel to make a shortlist, and I will imagine that the final selection of a winner will be almost impossible. We have increased the number of categories from 12 to 14 this year, so there are more opportunities for people to win.
“We want to stress that these awards are not just for the big hotels or large attractions – we aim to recognise businesses and individuals in the tourism industry at every level.”
Entries are open at www.acsta.co.uk until midnight on September 23.
