The annual Ellon Bonfire and fireworks event at Gordon Park was held at the weekend and the organisers have hailed the event as a success.
There was concern that the event, held on Saturday, October 28, would be cancelled due to strong winds but everything went ahead as planned to the delight of the waiting crowds.
George Stewart of Ellon Round Table said: “It went really well, the park was completely mobbed.
“We are delighted with the turnout that we got despite the fact that the event was held a week early.
“We were worried that the wind would put us off but we spoke to Fireworx Scotland for reassurance and they still managed to put on a superb display.
“We would like to thank all of the people that helped us with this event from the stewards to people shaking buckets.”
George added: “We have raised around £300 so that has covered our costs and we are in the black.”
Over the past year Ellon Round Table has doubled its membership.
George explained: “Last year we had four members and now we have nine so that helps to make everything easier but we are always looking for people to join Round Table or to help with our events.”
