ELLON can expect up to twenty new jobs to be created, after a company providing care for the disabled announced an expansion of its operations in the area.
ILS, who provide home-based care and employ 1350 people, say that demand for their services is such in the Ellon area that they are considering a major expansion of their personnel. The company provide services to local authorities on a contracted basis, as well as providing private care to those who wish to supplement the care received from local authorities.
ILS is now searching for potential candidates who might be interested in taking up the newly created posts.
Jackie Winton from ILS in Ellon, said: “Our care at home teams come from all backgrounds and previous careers. Many have found a huge change in their own quality of life, when they’ve come to work in this sector from elsewhere. There is enormous job satisfaction working so closely with people in the care sector, and knowing that your own personal input makes a real difference to the quality of people’s lives by enabling them to live in their own homes as independently as possible. I would be happy to hear from anyone looking for employment in the Banff and Ellon areas who thinks they have the right skills to work for us.
“Full training is provided prior to working in the community, as well as ongoing training and support with the opportunity for career progression. An SVQ training programme has recently been launched for all members of the teams.”
The company is also undertaking a major expansion of services in Banff, creating a further 20 posts.
Irene MacLeod recently joined ILS as HR Administrator, having worked with Grampian Police for 25 years, and said that she was enjoying the new position.
“My first couple of months at ILS have just flown by,” she said. “I work more with the staff than the clients and have a nicely varied workload which consists of bringing in new recruits, collecting references, and maintaining staff files. I can safely say that the ILS team here are a fantastic bunch, and extremely good at their jobs. The complete change of sector was a bit daunting at first, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
