A young apprentice is proving that hard work and dedication pays off after impressing bosses at a North-east fabrication company while on work placement.
Kyle Bruce, 17, has secured full-time employment with Foveran-based GGD Engineering following the completion of the Entry to Apprenticeship (E2A) course.
He was a learner with ITCA Training, one of Scotland’s leading engineering apprenticeship-training firms.
GGD Engineering managing director Gary Donald was impressed with Kyle’s hard work during his placement, and offered him a permanent position as an apprentice fabricator with the company.
GGD Engineering, which employs 14 members of staff, works with various materials including carbon steel, stainless steels, aluminium alloys and engineering plastics, for a range of clients in the oil and gas sector.
Mr Donald, said: “I was impressed by Kyle’s manner and enthusiasm while he was on placement at the company through ITCA.
“He has a good attitude towards his work and we are looking forward to helping him develop his skills.”
Managing director of ITCA Training June Jones said: “It is important for youngsters to show their dedication and enthusiasm as soon as they enter the workplace, and learners like Kyle demonstrate that it certainly pays off.
“Securing a full-time role with a company so quickly is a great achievement.”
