MELDRUM House Hotel has been selected as one of four North East tourism businesses that will compete in a regional final of the prestigious Scottish Thistle Awards taking place next Tuesday.
The regional ceremony of the Scottish Thistle Awards, organised by national tourism organisation, VisitScotland, will be held on June 4, in Battleby Conference Centre, Perth giving local businesses an opportunity to secure a place in the national awards to be held November.
The shortlisted businesses that were announced last Tuesday (May 21) are; the Four Star Meldrum House Hotel, nominated in The Best Hotel category, along with The Mains of Drum (shortlisted under two seperate categories),Banffshire Coast Tourism Partnership and Glen Tanar Estate.

“The North East offers a great visitor experience in terms of the quality of things to see and do and places to stay and these businesses have an excellent chance of securing a place at the national Scottish Thistle Awards which will take place this November.”
The Scottish Thistle Awards celebrate excellence across the industry, with special emphasis on quality and enhancing the overall visitor experience. VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance scheme seeks to capitalise on this further and aims to position Scotland as one of the world’s best visitor destinations.
