The new TSB Bank was launched in Aberdeenshire on Monday with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at various branches.
There are 12 branches in the area, including Ellon, Inverurie and Insch.
The creation of the new TSB Bank by Lloyds Banking Group follows a ruling by the European Commission and the UK Government in November, 2009, aimed at bringing more competition to the UK banking market.
The project has taken two years and bank bosses have billed it as bringing back “local banking”.
The new bank has more than 4.6million customers and over £20 billion of loans and customer deposits.
