The Artisan Food award recognises businesses which champion local food and produce, and support other local producers too.
The Store was one of six finalists in the largest category in the running for the award for its own home reared and butchered Aberdeen Angus beef.
The family-run farm and farm shop, which is managed by husband and wife team Andrew and Debbie Booth, believes in farm to fork and rears and butchers its Aberdeen Angus beef at its on-site butchery and farm, ensuring 100% tracability of its meat.
As a result of this The Store has complete control of the produce, guarenteeing tracability and high quality products to its customers.
Andrew said: “We are delighted to come home with the Highly Commended award for our Aberdeen Angus beef and it was a great honor to be nominated and reach the finals of these prestigious awards in the food and drink sector.
“This award gives us the opportunity to reiterate the importance of buying local produce from farm to fork, which The Store prides itself on. We have an on-site butchery at the farm which allows us to ensure 100% tracability of our Aberdeen Angus beef, which is something our customers highly appreciate.”
The successful farm store and coffee shop is open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.
