An Ellon-based subsea firm has been recognised as one of the top influential companies in the global marine technology sector.
Impact Subsea has received a place in the Marine Technology Reporters MTR100 list for the second year running.
Marine Technology Reporter is the largest audited subsea industry publication serving the offshore energy, subsea defence and scientific communities.
Each year a list of the 100 most influential companies is published in what is better known as the MTR100.
Established in 2015, Impact Subsea has developed a range of sensors for use on underwater robots.
The sensors, which include underwater Altitude, Depth, Heading and Motion reference have been highly disruptive in the subsea technology sector.
Commenting on the publication Ben Grant, managing director of Impact Subsea said: “There are many subsea technology companies within Aberdeenshire which are leading the world in underwater technology.
“We are greatly honoured to be recognised for our contribution to the sector.”
Impact Subsea is located in Unit 10 at Ellon’s Castle Road Industrial Estate.
The firm was founded by Ben Grant and Alastair Mclennan-Murray as they were keen to create a new standard in underwater technology having had previous experience in the sector.
