A LOCAL firm is helping to raise some festive cheer by sponsoring a Christmas carol concert that will raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

Zenith Oilfield Technology, who operate out of Thainstone Business Park, Inverurie, has donated £900 as sponsors of the Grampian Hospitals Christmas Carol Concert will be held at the city’s Music Hall on the afternoon of Sunday, December 9 in aid of CLIC Sargent.

The concert will feature music and carols from local performers of all ages and money raised will help the charity provide support to children and young people in the north-east who are fighting cancer.

Greg Davie, general manager of Zenith Oilfield Technology, which operates in the artificial lift sector of the global oil and gas industry, said: “Enjoying a little Christmas spirit is important to the team in our Inverurie office and co-sponsoring the Grampian Hospitals Christmas Carol Concert is an opportunity for us to help spread the cheer a little further while supporting a very worthwhile cause in CLIC Sargent.”

Peter Logie, fundraising manager for CLIC Sargent in the north-east, said: “The support from Zenith and our other sponsors means that money raised at the concert will go towards helping the families of children and young people who are fighting cancer in the north-east of Scotland. Zenith employees have raised more than £3,000 for a number of charities this year by taking part in a white water rafting challenge, a go-karting challenge and also running a coffee morning for staff.
