Two local politicians visited Power Jacks recently following the announcement that the firm would be moving to Westhill.
Last week it was revealed that the firm’s current base at Balmacassie Industrial Estate will be transformed into a hotel by BrewDog.
Ellon & District councillor Gillian Owen and Gordon MP Colin Clark visited Power Jacks to discuss their future plans.
Commenting on the sale of its existing site and forthcoming relocation to Westhill, Power Jacks Chairman, Bruce Bultitude, said: “The deal to sell the site to BrewDog works well for both companies.
“We’re happy to assist them with their expansion plans and, in doing so, creating the opportunity for Power Jacks to invest in impressive new manufacturing facilities at Kingshill.”
Cllr Owen said: “It’s bitter sweet that Power Jacks are set to move to Westhill.
“Whilst I am so pleased that a local company is doing so well, they have contributed so much to Ellon’s local economy. It really is Ellon’s loss but Westhill’s gain.
“It is really excellent that BrewDog goes from strength to strength as this also helps to maintain our local economy which is so important.”
Cllr Owen added: “I am still a little disappointed with the state of the Business Park. I campaigned long and hard to have the road service fixed but the grass and the pavements are still in a dreadful state.”
