ELLON residents are being urged to contact the local bus operator, after a large crowd met representatives of the company on Monday to air the town’s concerns over the new 262 bus service.
Around 50 bus users attended the open meeting at Ellon Community centre, which was also attended by Stagecoach representatives and members of Ellon Community Council.
William Mayness, Julie Barker and Chris Cartmal listened to customer concerns and agreed to accept further public input on the subject.
Community Council member Mark Grant told the Times afterwards: “There are a lot of concerns regarding the 262 - those who attended were quite disgruntled with the way the service is being run.”
Times columnist Jack Nixon, who also attended the meeting, said: “’The issue of the 262 services being late on almost every occasion must be resolved and soon, especially for those who have work commitments in town. Running up to 30 minutes behind schedule is unacceptable, as is quite often the case. For Stagecoach to deny this fact is equally out of order.’’
