A stretch of the B9005 at Kinharrachie will close on Monday, August 17 until Friday, August 28, to allow for major resurfacing work to be carried out.
Motorists will be routed through the B999 Tarves to Pitmedden road and the B9170 Methlick to Oldmeldrum road.
There will also be diversions in place through the C42B Douglashead to Kinharrachie road and the C42C Raxton to Douglashead road.
The diversions will be signposted.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Roads and Landscape Services, Philip McKay, said: “The B9005 resurfacing works at Kinharrachie will significantly improve the condition of the road and have been scheduled to take place during the summer holidays when traffic volumes are lower.
“Aberdeenshire Council would ask that members of the public be patient while these essential works are carried out.”
Ellon and District Councillor, Gillian Owen, said: “The B9005 is an important Road but currently is in need of attention.
“The diversion is long however I hope motorists will be patient because the end result will be brilliant.
“Residents should have access in and out of their property and if needed emergency services will get access.”
