A team of riders representing Meston Reid & Co, Chartered Accountants based in Aberdeen, undertook a charity cycle ride last week and stopped in at Inverurie Garden Centre on the last leg of their journey.

Meston Reid & Co are celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2015 and to mark the occasion the partners and staff have decided to undertake a number of fundraising events in aid of two local charities that have been selected by the staff. The two charities are Charlie House which has a target of raising funds to build and run a respite centre for children with life limiting conditions and their families in the North East, and UCAN the urological cancer charity based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

One of the fundraising events undertaken was a three-day charity cycle ride from Wednesday (May 27) to Friday, (May 29) covering a circular 220 mile route from Aberdeen to Forres via Ballater and the Lecht and returning to Aberdeen via Banff. The team of riders visited various businesses on the trip and have raised over £3,500 for the two charities.

Inverurie Garden Centre kindly sponsored the riders and they were met by Hugh Robertson and were provided with lunch to get the team through the final stint.
