Collieston and Slains WRI annual general meeting took place at the Forvie Centre, Collieston on April 14.
The secretary updated members about last year’s annual meeting minutes and also read a summary of all activities over the past year.
The financial report was also run past the meeting and the results from March’s Mini-Show announced as follows: 2nd equal Anne Craig and Nora Harper, and Irene Smith was first and received the silver rose bowl.
Retiring president May Irvine thanked her committee and all members for their support and enthusiasm over her two years in office.
Meanwhile, voting slips were submitted for the new committee and taken aside for tallying by ladies from Longside SWRI.
Around a dozen talented Longside ladies performed a tremendously varied programme of singing, music, dancing and humorous sketches, plus an entertaining quiz, and then a splendid buffet was provided by hostesses Lynda and Carol.
There are not many changes in the new committee, chief one being that Carol Proudlock will be the new president. Nora then gave a big vote of thanks to the Longside Ladies and the hostesses, and wished us all a safe journey home.
The next meeting will take place on May 12 at May Irvine’s farmhouse at Netherleask as members will be potting up planters and hanging baskets in a workshop led by Marion from Corbshill Nursery, New Deer.
Members are reminded to bring along their own containers and tools unless they have previously asked for Marion to supply them.
