Community council seek new members

The local people across Ellon have been urged to join posts within the town’s community council.

Eight vacancies are available with theEllon Community Council over the summer.

Anyone within an AB41 postcode and on the electoral register can become a member.

Meeting once a month, the group act as a link between the community and Aberdeenshire Council.

They also organise community events including the hugely popular Christmas lights and the Ellon garden competition.

Candidates should have a passion for developing the community and use their skills and experience for the benefit of the local people.

Chairperson, sandy Mcdougall said: “ I hope that we can attract some new members to the vacancies as it is important that we continually refresh membership.

“It is an opportunity to make a difference to our community and at the same time get involved in some fun events.”

Nomination forms are available from Aberdeenshire Council in Neil Ross Square or downloaded from the Community council’s Facebook page. The closing date is Thursday, July 31.
