Ellon and District councillor Gillian Owen was shocked to discover that vandals had attacked her home in the early hours of Tuesday (September 12).
The vandals threw two plant pots through her window at around 5am.
Gillian was at home at the time along with her husband and son and the incident left them feeling shaken.
Cllr Owen said: “So sad the spider plant that my Grandfather gave me is potless and all over the floor, and the Bay Tree given to me by Theresa and Philip May when I left Maidenhead Conservative Association is shattered in pieces.
“Such a mindless act and so destructive.
“Thank you to the local police for their help.”
