A 19-year-old male has been charged following the recovery of around £1,300 of ecstasy in Ellon.

The recovery of the drug by police took place in the town in December last year.

A report will now be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Commenting on the recovery, PC Lewis Ingram of the Formartine Community Policing Team said: “This is a substantial recovery of controlled drugs removed from our community.

“We will continue to proactively target those involved in drug supply and rely on intelligence from the community to do that.”

PC Ingram added: “If you have any information that can assist us in this regard, please call Police on 101.

“Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or via their online reporting tool should you wish to remain anonymous.”
