Police Scotland has appealed to the public for information following a serious road traffic collision in Ellon on Saturday morning.
The collision involved a blue Peugeot 208 driven by a 65-year-old female and a 89-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the bridge on South Road at around 10.37am.
As a result of the collision the female pedestrian was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is currently being treated for life threatening injuries.
The occupant of the Peugeot 208 was uninjured.
Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101.’’
