The family of Mary Donald who sadly died following a collision at the weekend have said she will be "sorely missed".
They say the 89-year-old was "very well known" in Ellon where she had lived for many years.
In their statement released through Police Scotland, they added: "She was known for being out walking, which she did everyday rain or shine.
"She was a very independent lady, she had been a widow for over 30 years.
"She was a much loved mum, granny and great granny. Mum will be sorely missed by both family and friends."
Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and anyone with information who hasn't yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
