Three male 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old female have been apprehended in Aberdeenshire and charged in connection with the theft of a black Zafira motor car taken from a property in Aberdeen on Tuesday, April 12.

It is alleged the car was subsequently used in a series of crimes in the Aberdeen and Alford areas.

Chief Inspector Richard Craig said: “I would like to thank members of the community for their help with this inquiry, which has involved officers from the Marr and Garioch Community Policing Team based in Huntly and Inverurie, along with Specialist Roads Policing and CID resources.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public to always be vigilant when it comes to their valuables, and to ensure their homes, garages and vehicles are always locked and secure.

“Please reduce your chances of becoming a victim by using good quality locks and ensuring your house keys and car keys are always out of sight.

“With the lighter nights, I would urge people to always ensure you secure your doors - front and back - even if you are at home, or in the garden.

“To report any suspicious behaviour, or if you have any concerns, please contact police on 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
