Police Scotland are appealing for information after a series of acts of vandalism and anti-social behaviour took place at Kinellar Primary School.
Police report that the incidents happened between Friday, (April 3), and Monday (April 20) at Kinellar Primary School in the Fintray Road area.
Between 12.30pm on Friday, (April 3), and 8am on Tuesday, (April 7), a small fire was set at the school. Additionally, between 2pm on Thursday (April 9), and 8am on Monday, (April 20), a number of broken slates were found along with litter including broken glass.
The total damage has been estimated at a low three figure sum.
East Garioch Councillor Martin Ford commented, “While the damage caused was not major, this was nevertheless pointless vandalism.
“The fire-raising has the potential to be far more serious and I hope the police identify those responsible so appropriate action can be taken.”
Investigating officer, PC Gary Christie, said, “While some may view vandalism as low-level crime, the impact on the community can be quite significant especially when it is community hubs such as primary schools being targeted.
“Police Scotland is dedicated to detecting crimes such as these and I would ask anyone with information to come forward and contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
