Officers in Ellon are appealing for information following a break-in to a garage in Tarves.

A garage in the Tree Road area was broken into sometime between 11.15pm on Sunday, January 28 and 8am on Monday, January 29 but nothing was taken.

Investigating officer PC Nicola Wood of the Formartine Community Policing Team said: "If anyone recalls hearing or seeing anything suspicious in the area overnight on Sunday I would ask them to get in touch.

"Thankfully nothing was taken in this incident but I would take this opportunity to remind all homeowners to be vigilant and ensure that they keep their front doors, windows, garages and outbuildings locked overnight and to hide or make it difficult to remove any valuables.

"If anyone does recall seeing or hearing anything that might be useful to this investigation I would ask that they call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0762 of 29 January."

Information can also be reported anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
