Police have carried out a successful road safety initiative in the Newmachar and Kemnay areas to promote safer driving and to enforce road traffic laws.
The event was held last Thursday and Friday and was organised in response to concerns raised by local residents about speeding, parking and general road issues.
As part of the initiative, officers visited three primary schools, Newmachar, Kemnay and Alehousewells, and offered children in P1, P2 and P3 advice on road and pedestrian safety. They were also educated about the Green Cross Code.
Parking was also monitored and officers have spoken to drivers in relation to parking outside schools and within restricted areas.
Police say that although the initiative was only for two days, their focus on road safety will continue.
