Balmedie’s White Horse Inn raised £400 for Aberdeenshire North Foodbank throughout January by asking diners to add a small donation to their foodbill.
The fundraiser was initiated by White Horse proprietor Euan Bain and there was strong support for it.
Foodbank manager Jeannie Price said:” We are delighted with the total raised for us.
“This will go towards enabling us to continue to put food on the table of those experiencing financial hardship across northern Aberdeenshire.
“We would love to hear from anyone else willing to fundraise on our behalf or interested in becoming a referral partner and signposting clients to us so we can provide them with food.”
The foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust nationwide network, saw a steep rise in use across its three distribution centres in the period from May to September last year.
The foodbank service operates across the north of Aberdeenshire in Formartine, Garioch, Banff and Buchan, Buchan, and Upper Marr and involves a team of around 80 volunteers.
It has distribution centres in Ellon, Inverurie and Huntly.
