A SMALL group of talented Auchterellon pupils is set to appear on the television as part of a choir singing on this years’ Children in Need appeal.
Logan Higgins, Matthew Lusher, Sophie Smith and Faye Gill were selected from the school’s pupils for their singing ability, after Auchterellon raised a significant amount of money for the appeal last year.
The youngsters will be performing as part of a live broadcast for Scotland’s Children in Need programming, which will be coming from Aberdeen Beach Ballroom on Friday, November 16. A further programme is scheduled for November 17.
The Auchterellon contingent will be performing as part of a 2,500 strong choir drawn from across the country.
Speaking to the Times, the youngsters admitted that they were nervous, but added that they were really looking forward to the challenge.
Matthew said: “We are quite nervous, but we’re keen as well. There was mention that our singing might even be available on iTunes - I’ll be downloading it if it is!”
Sophie added: “We have signed contracts, so we can’t say what we’ll be singing.”
P7 Teacher Morag Will said: “We are all very proud of our four pupils, and they are working really hard rehearsing. We wish them lots of luck for their performance.”
