A chance remark on social networking has led to plans for a reunion of former Ellon Academy schoolmates.
The class of ‘82 are aiming for a get-together in March and an appeal has gone out for ex-pupils to get in touch.
The event is being organised by Glynis Gogolinski (formerly Thompson) after a chat on Facebook a few months ago.
She told the Times: “It started with an off-the-cuff remark I made way back in September on the Ellon Academy Facebook page, because we haven’t had a reunion.
“After a few comments back and fore I was persuaded to try and organise it.”
Along with old school pal Karen Cooper Bonner, Glynis has managed to confirm 43 former pupils with possibly another 10.
She said: “Obviously we hope to have as many old faces there as possible but 60 would be a good number for a great get-together.
Some friends will be travelling from Manchester and another from Hampshire for the big night.
The reunion will be held in the Station Hotel, Ellon, on Saturday, March 21, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12, including stovies and a buffet, and will be going on sale from Karen Cooper Bonner at Beautique Beauty Salon, Ellon, and Glynis at Beau Belle Hair and Beauty Salon, Holburn St, Aberdeen.
