An Ellon Pre-school group celebrated its 30th anniversary last week with two very special guests.
Gordon Park Pre-school held a party for parents, staff, committee members and children on Friday, July 1.
The group were delighted to welcome former First Minister Alex Salmond and the new MSP for Aberdeenshire East, Gillian Martin, along to join the celebrations.
The facility was originally set up by a couple of parents in the Meiklemill area and it has grown ever since.
Today it facilitates 2’s-Group and Pre-school sessions and has been managed by Maryanne Leask for the last eight years.
Around 45 children currently attend the Pre-school and it is open 5 days a week.
Alex Salmond said: “I am delighted to celebrate 30 years of this group and it is quite inspiring to see the generations of children that have gone through and to think about the generations still to come.”
Ms Martin added: “Maryanne and her team have done a great job over recent years and have plans to make the Preschool even batter. It’s clear that the boundless energy and enthusiasm of the children has rubbed off on the staff.”
