Meiklemill School held its annual awards ceremony at the end of term.

The ceremony is something that all of the pupils always look forwardto.

The event gives staff the chance to celebrate hard work across the year as well as recognise areas such as endeavour across the wider curriculum.

A total of 68 awards were given out this year.

The House Awards were picked up by the house captains and two of the younger pupils in each of the houses.

Craighall house won the Meiklemill 40th Birthday Award for Younger Stages Sports, the Potted Sports Shield and the Endeavour Shield.

Esslemont house won the Sports Day Trophy and Throwing Events Team Trophy.

Finally, Ythan house won the Lunchtime Endeavour Shield.

Individual award achievements were also handed out at the ceremony.

This year’s Outstanding Captain Award was presented to Corrie Baillie.

The Commitment Award was given to Joanna Greaves.

Three pupils were awarded Leadership Awards, they were Fiona Cairney, Eilidh Gault and Owen Birkett.

Moray Gault received the Practice and Perseverance Award.

Erin Berry won the Athletic Endeavour award.

The 2018 Girls’ Sports Champion is Lois Longstaff, and the Boys’ Sports Champion was shared between joint winners William Mitchell and Aidan McCormick.
