REPRESENTIVES from Ellon Community Council were on hand to judge this year’s Easter Bonnet and Egg Competition last weekend.

The Lawrence family was well represented in the early stages of the competition, with Neil Lawrence taking 1st and 2nd respectively in the pre-school entries, while Ryan Lawrence took first place in the P1-3 Bonnet and Egg competitions. Meanwhile, Amy Cantlay won the P4-7 Bonnet and Egg Competition, and Betty McRae took first for the S1-4 category. Fiona Jones emerged overall winner for the adults, and Isobel for the Daycare Centre.

Spokeswoman Sanrda Topp told the Times: “We had a good turnout of entries, though disappointingly fewer than last year when the hall was awash with colour from the tables. Thanks go to everyone who made the effort, as we really enjoyed looking at all your delightful bonnets and eggs and appreciate the time taken to create your entries. Also to our judges for giving up part of their Easter Saturday and to Isabel & Sue at Daycare for taking the time with their group. We look forward to repeating it all again next year!”
