Ellon Beavers group are in danger of shutting down if no one steps in as their next leader.
After around three months of appeals made to the community, no one has came forward.
If the situation stays the same the Beaver group will be forced to close down by the end of the year.
This will impact on the children already enrolled at Beavers and for those who have been patiently waiting, eager to join the group.
The current Beaver leaders have decided to move on after 15 years of services to the Scout movement.
Ellon Scouts Committee member, Rebecca Allison, said: “The Ellon Beavers keep 13 to 16 year-old boys off of the streets.
“If no one steps in by the end of the year we will seriously have to say that that is it.
“It will be such a shame if it shuts down.”
If the Beavers stop working in the town this could also have knock on effect on the Cubs and the Scouts because the groups all tie in with each other, so without the Beavers, Ellon may struggle to have any scouting presence.
Rebecca added: “We are not asking for someone to give up a lot of time. It’s just one hour a week.
“It doesn’t have to be a permanent commitment.
“We need someone who is willing to help and support us and who is really hands on and likes the outdoors.”
