An Ellon Boys’ Brigade leader is stepping down after more than 20 years.
Karen Yule-Walker has been involved in the running of 1st Ellon Anchor Boys’ section since 1994 and became office in charge in 2004.
She attended 1st Ellon Girls’ Brigade but then starting assisting at the Anchor Boys when they were short of helpers.
Karen, who has a young daughter, is standing down in May to spend more time with her family.
She said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Anchor Boys and have had great fun over the years.
“I will leave with many happy memories.”
Karen said they were keen to hear from anyone who would be interested in taking over from her.
She explained: “Anyone wishing to become involved in the BB should be approachable, reliable and responsible and above all be committed to the needs and interests of children.
“If anyone is interested in getting involved and becoming a leader they should contact the Kirk Centre office in the first instance.”
Karen will bid farewell to the organisation at the annual open night in May.
The Anchor Boys’ section - P2 and P3 age group - meets in the Kirk Centre on Wednesdays from 5.15-6.30pm.
