A local businessman, former pupil at Ellon Academy and Aberdeenshire mum enjoyed success recently when they made it onto a top business list in Aberdeen.
Financial services director Phil Anderson, 38, of Phil Anderson Financial Services, GOT Ltd managing director Warren Anderson, 38 and photographer Donna Gray, 39, secured places onto the 40Under40 Aberdeen 2014 List.
They attended a champagne reception earlier this month at Malmaison where the top 40 business people under the age of 40 received recognition.
In 1995 18-year-old Warren began working as a part time driver at GOT. After working full time in a purchasing role he was promoted to office manager. He was appointed as a director in 2006 before becoming managing director two years later. In 2009 he opened premises in Luanda, Angola and in Houston, Texas a few years later.
Phil set up his company in October 2011 which was started out of his home kitchen in Ellon. Now the company has six staff members and two self-employed employees that cover offices based in Ellon, Aberdeen and Caithness.
He said: “It is wonderful when your hard work and effort is recognised and without the work of our team this recognition would not be possible.”
Also on the list was baby photographer Donna Gray from Alford who then went on to scoop an award from networking organisation Mumpreneur UK.
The mum of six said: “I’m a little stunned really. I started the business on a shoestring, knowing I’d have to juggle being a wife and mother with building the business up. It’s great to have my hard work be recognised, no only by my clients but by these organisations and to have so much recognition all at once is really amazing.”
