Ellon and District Men’s Shed has been shortlisted for the Bank of Scotland Community Fund 2014 in North Aberdeenshire.
The group is encouraging people to vote to give it a chance of a grant of up to £3,000.
Ellon Shed is a formally registered charity recently established to set up a facility for men who are mainly retired or semi-retired. However, the shed is open to all men aged 16 and over.
Members are working with the local council to establish a location for the shed and any funding that is sourced will go towards equipment and running costs.
Ellon and District Men’s Shed chairman, Charlie Forrest, said: “A men’s shed is a fantastic resource for men in the community, it gets men out of their homes, meeting new people and putting something back into the community.
“We are appealing to the local community to help us make this a reality in the Ellon area”
