ELLON Parish Church celebrated an end to their long-standing fundraising efforts last week, with the official announcement that the cost of the building’s refurbishment had finally been met.
EPC spokeswoman Lynn Paterson told the Times: “We actually finished covering the costs of the project during Christmas last year, so this ceremony marked the taking down of our ‘God at Work’ banner.
“We had anticipated that it would take two years to raise the £228,000, so we are absolutely delighted to say that we’re well ahead of schedule. Everyone has come away with the project with innovative fundraising ideas, and we plan to continue raising money which can go towards good causes in the community. The building is a great community asset, for everyone’s benefit.”
