Ellon-based photographer Scott Hogg has recently won a top prize in the annual Master Photographers Association (MPA) Awards.
Scott was named as the winner in the UK Wedding Day and Celebration category at the awards ceremony which took place on Sunday, October 18, at the Hinckley Island Hotel.
The ceremony saw many leading UK photographers and photographers from overseas enter into the awards programme with the hope of gaining recognition for their work.
Speaking about his winning photograph, Scott said: “I’m delighted to win this award because I strive to capture natural and relaxed images and I think this photograph captures this style.
“It’s an honour to be the only Scottish photographer who won a wedding category at the national awards.”
The prestigious awards are the most anticipated event in the professional photographic calendar.
They aim to celebrate the masters of international photography as well as promote and maintain standards of photographic excellence within the industry.
This year judges from across the globe selected a record number of nominees due to the high standards of photography entered into the programme.
CEO of MPA, Clare Louise, said: “The standard of photography we have seen this year is world class, and a privilege to judge.
“It was exciting to see new faces coming through and rewarding to see such great talent upholding previous years titles.
“With entrants both UK and worldwide, our winners really are the masters of their craft.”
She added: “ It is an absolute honor to showcase imagery of such high standard and we are really proud to represent some of the best image makers globally.”
Membership of the MPA is restricted to professional photographers who must qualify to the minimum required standards.
