Casa Salvatore has been nominated in the Scottish Italian Awards 2015.
Owners Colin and Jill Cruickshank will battle it out with nine other finalists in the Best Pizza category.
The couple, who have run the popular restaurant in Station Road for the past eight years, say the news took them completely by surprise.
Jill explained; “I registered on the website during the summer but never heard any more about it until we got a phone call to say we had been nominated.
“We thought ‘let’s give it a go’ but didn’t think we had much chance given that it’s throughout the whole of Scotland but then we heard we had made it to the final. It’s amazing.”
Colin said: “It’s not really something we tend to go in for.
“We have a good, loyal customer base and we feel humbled by their support.”
The finalists have to cook a margherita pizza for top celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, consisting of entirely Italian produce.
Colin added: “It’s a bit daunting but we are delighted to be in the final and will give it our best shot.”
Casa Salvatori is very much a family business with daughter Eilidh and son Aidan also helping out from time to time.
The pizza showdown will take place in Glasgow on October 26.
