Thousands of revellers saw in the New Year in Ellon at the fifth Gig at the Brig Hogmanay event.
Organisers Ellon Events were delighted to announce that all 2,700 tickets for the 2017 event were sold, the first time this has happened in the event’s history.
Those that made it along to the event at Ellon’s riverside were treated to brilliant performances from North East bands Silver City Soul Revue, Black Tiles, and Destination, as well as a fantastic set by event headliners The Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
The Ellon British Legion Pipe Band also took to the stage to entertain the crowd.
The music was followed by a colourful firework display to mark the start of 2018.
A host of volunteers were on hand to ensure the event went off without a hitch and kept everyone safe.
Meanwhile over 30 members of bar staff worked non-stop throughout the night to serve over 7,000 drinks.
Wayne Baber of Ellon Events said: “It was absolutely brilliant, really loved it and the music was perfect for the crowd of all ages.
“The artists had the crowd in the palm of their hands from the start as everyone was singing and dancing along, and clapping their hands too giving the bands great feedback.
“When the Chilli Pipers came on the crowd really loved it, the event was really bouncing and it’s the best response to a band we’ve ever seen at Gig at the Brig.”
Wayne added: “It was brilliant to sell out for the first time and this year has proved to be a huge success - the best year by far.
“A lot of hard work and preparation has payed off and the whole event went really, really well.”
The event organisers will now meet to finalise the 2017 event before deciding whether to return in December.
