Ellon is set for this year’s
Christmas Lights Switch On event which will take place on Saturday, November 21.

The annual festive event is organised by the Ellon Community Council.

The exciting programme of events will kick off in the town’s Neil Ross Square where Santa will arrive at 10am to meet local children in his grotto.

Santa will have to leave his grotto at around 3.30pm in order to take part in the parade and so children are advised to head along to the Square early.

There will also be a variety of stalls and entertainment available in the Square throughout the day.

The lights on the tree at The Chestnuts will be switched on by pupils from Meiklemill School at 4.30pm.

Santa’s parade will then commence from the Market Street Car Park at the riverside.

Various local groups will also join Santa as he parades a
round Ellon.

The event will come to a close with a fireworks display at the riverside at around 5pm.

Organiser of the event, Nick Langan, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce that due to the generosity of donations from local businesses and Ellon residents we have been able to invest in new lights which will be installed on the trees in the riverside car park.

“I would encourage everyone to come down to the town centre and join in the day which is great fun for adults and children and kicks off the
festive season.”
