Apeke Victoria Ajulo, the organisation’s diocesan president in Okene, and her husband, the Right Rev Professor Emmanuel Ajulo, Bishop of Okene, attended morning service at St Mary-on-the-Rock last Wednesday.
Mrs Ajulo had been in contact with Mrs Chris Crosley, diocesan president of the Mothers’ Union in Aberdeen and Orkney.
The two diocese are linked through the Christian charity, which has four million members.
After several emails and telephone calls, Bishop Emmanuel was invited by St Mary’s Rector, the Rev Andrew Tucker, to preach at the service in the church hall.
The two visitors chatted to the congregation before attending the lunch club, which has some members over 90 who are also in the Mothers’ Union.
The charity is established in 83 countries, working to support families through literacy, numeracy, health and hygiene, mini finance, farming and many other income-generating projects, all of which are underpinned by prayer.
