Councillor welcomes delayed markings

AN Ellon councillor has spoken of her relief, after road markings on the Cromleybank roundabout took a year to be painted.

Cllr Gillian Owen has campaigned for the lines to be painted, after a disagreement between BEAR Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council over who exactly was responsible for the work.

Cllr Owen said: “I am delighted that the white lines have been marked onto the road surface. I started this campaign back in October last year. Who was actually responsible was unclear, both Bear Scotland and the Council had their views but once we met and discussed we were able to sort this out once and for all. Roads without good visible lines are like roads without signs, without them, drivers lose vital information to guide them safely.”
