Energy company seeks nominations for projects

community groups, schools, charities and organisations in and around Ellon are being asked by Scottish Hydro to nominate projects that would benefit from its help.

Employees at the energy company’s shop in Bridge Street are keen to help initiatives as of its Community at Heart scheme.

The scheme gives each member of staff a day away from their normal work duties to do voluntary work for local organisations and charities in their community.

Ellon manager Steven Keith said: “The team here are keen to give a helping hand and make a difference to local organisations and charities. Applications are welcome for any kind of activity; it doesn’t have to be labour intensive as long as it helps make a difference.

“It can include anything from tidying an overgrown school garden, redecorating a community hall to crushing boxes or crunching numbers on a club’s behalf.”

Community at Heart local project nominations can be submitted by completing an application form available at Alternatively, visit the local Scottish Hydro shop at 41 Bridge Street, Ellon.
