A programme of activities has been lined-up for Udny Energy Efficient Project.
The venture was launched at the Dr Spence Memorial Hall in June and the committee is introducing energy-saving measures to the building to reduce energy use, costs and carbon emissions.
Among the events planned are fun and informative workshops and home visits to encourage hall users and local households to cut their own energy use.
A quiz night, themed “How is your home energy-saving knowledge?”, will be held in the hall on Friday, October 30, at 7pm. Entry is free and there will be prizes.
A Shabby to Chic workshop is being organised for Saturday, November 14, at 10am in the same venue.
It will involve a demonstration of furniture upcycling and a fashion show by a local charity.
On Saturday, November 28, an Energy Roadshow will take place from 10am until 1pm.
Suppliers of all the latest energy-saving products will demonstrate how to make savings in the home. There will be a free survey for everyone in the area.
Udny Green Hall was awarded £150,000 by the Scottish Government’s climate challenge fund, which was supported by a £70,000 grant from the Udny Community Trust.
The hall refurbishment programmme is due for completion next month.
