AN ELLON councillor is calling for urgent improvements to a local road, after receiving complaints from constituents.
Cllr Gillian Owen told the Times that she had been in contact with NHS Grampian, who own the road into Ellon Health Centre to investigate the possibility of improvements.
She said that talks with Gordon Murdoch, who manages the NHS Estates, had been positive, though added that he hadn’t given a specific timeframe for improvements to be carried out.
Speaking to the Ellon Times, she said: “The road is more like a patchwork quilt and there are holes that desperately need attention. I am so pleased that Gordon Murdoch of the NHS Grampian, was so receptive to my request. I understand that no timescale has been laid down, but it is really good news that action will be undertaken.”
“With the onset of winter I am keen to ensure these works are carried out as quickly as possible, and without too much disruption to the doctors and dentist surgeries.
“Let’s hope this will be an end to the patchwork road.
“I shall be monitoring this and chasing to ensure that works are carried out expediently, but I just want to say a big thank for the quick response of NHS Grampian!”
