Partnership turbine knocked back

PROPOSALS for a turbine near Auchnagatt which would have generated significant funding for the Formartine Area were knocked back at Formartine Area Committee on Tuesday, with councillors agreeing with planners’ suggestions that the proposals be refused.

The 80m-device had been proposed for Cairnadailly Farm, and would have been 20% owned by the Formartine Partnership, with profits invested in the region.

However local air traffic control operators had objected to the proposals - along with a number of other turbine developments in the region - on the basis that they would interfere with radar cover in the north-east.
