An Aberdeenshire Councillor has applauded property developer Dandara Homes after they responded to local concern at the location of advertising signs at a local accident blackspot.
A large mobile sign had been placed near the Cairnbrogie crossroads on the A920 between Pitmedden and Oldmeldrum. advertising a new housing development in Tarves.
Local councillor Paul Johnston, received concerns from people who saw the signs as a unwanted distraction at the dangerous crossroads.
“There have been a large number of accidents at this location, sadly some fatal. It is a difficult crossroads and any distraction is causing concern. Planners contacted Dandara Homes and urged them to consider local concerns and move their signs“ said Cllr Johnston. “People’s concerns are that the signs may distract people at this dangerous point. Anything that distracts at this point may increase the risk and therefore increase accidents.
Dandara Homes in response have undertaken to Aberdeenshire Planners to remove the signs and covered them up until they can be towed away.
“Dandara have responded to local concerns,” said Cllr Johnston.
