An Ellon councillor has voiced renewed criticism over the appearance of the former filling station site at Craighall.
Councillor Gillian Owen said it was particularly disappointing, given that there are fresh plans to develop the site in South Road.
She added: “The site is now as bad as I have ever seen it and a car is parked on it.
“It’s a shame that the area is left in such a disgraceful way.”
Mrs Owen said the developers of the disused filling station site had attended a recent meeting of Ellon Community Council and had spoken about their new plans.
She added: “What owner would wish to see their property look like that. The weeds are now knee high and what must newcomers or tourists think of the town when this is possibly their first sight.”
There are new proposals for flats on the site, which has lain empty since 2011.
